What if primates are the only life forms capable of developing conciousness in this universe? Is human dna therefore extra special? With reasonable imagination one can claim that the chemical reactions in the brain that produce our emotions originated from the force of the Big Bang. If we probe the universe with signals in order to find exraterrestial intelligence and found something it would probably come from a 4 limbed bipedial creature. If we don't find anything it is either because we are searching inaccurately back into time or because we are the first to search the universe we live in since the time of the Big Bang.

Holbein

Holbein was born in southern Germany (Augustburg). The Mauritz Huis in Den Haag has some of his paintings. I saw them recently - I don't think there is a Dutch painter who can match up to him.

Camera Obscura

I'm not sure if Ter Borch used the camera obscura. Vermeer may have used one for his paintings, many art experts say he did. Ter Borch's painting style is extraordinary in its realism, ecspecially the satin dresses Ter Borch painted.
